Jesus Lifted Us

JESUS LIFTED US

As we know from the book of Genesis, after God had created the perfect universe, then He created human beings after His image and likeness. He gave them dominion over all of creation, and created them male and female so that that they could reproduce after their kind. Then He created a perfect Garden of Eden for them to live in, and told them they could eat of the fruit of any tree in the garden "except" the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If they should eat the fruit of this tree they would certainly die. And we know from reading (Gen 3:1-24) for how they lost their intimate relationship with their Creator God, and were banished from the garden. From that moment on our world became a "Fallen World". God was not surprised by this because of His "Foreknowledge" and had a plan to rectify this situation! This plan included allowing His only begotten Son Jesus to become a human being by way of the "virgin birth" of Jesus through the womb of Mary of Nazareth. Thus Jesus became the one and only perfectly "Sinless Man" ever born without the "Sin" inherited from our original parents! Jesus was truly 100% God and 100% Man at the same time!!

Sometime last year in 2016 I discovered an old hymn by the name of "He Lifted Me" written by Charles Huchinson Gabriel. I have adopted this as my favorite words t o repeat in my mind every night before going to sleep  and every morning when I open my eyes. Here is the first verse and chorus.

"In loving kindness Jesus came, my soul in mercy to reclaim. And from the depths of sin and shame, through grace He lifted me. (chorus) From sinking sand He lifted me, with tender hands He lifted me. From shades of night to planes of light, O praise His Name, He lifted me"

Of course the death Adam and Eve received the moment they disobeyed the command God had given them, was the death of their intimate relationship they had enjoyed with their Creator in the Garden, this was the "spiritual death" of their spirits, and their "souls" were damaged and needed to be restored. So this is what we inherited from them, and what only Jesus could restore for us who receive Him by faith as our Lord and Savior!!

Sincerely submitted
